1. The Other Two

Created by two former SNL head writers, Chris Kelly and Sarah Schneider, The Other Two is a Comedy Central sitcom that at first glance feels too on-the-nose. Two down-on-their-luck elder millennials have, by their own expectations, washed out in the city of their dreams. But while siblings Cary (Drew Tarver) and Brooke (Helene Yorke) are both adrift, their 13-year-old tween sibling, Chase (Case Walker), becomes an internet sensation à la Justin Bieber. Gang-pressed by their mom (Molly Shannon) into working for their brother the tween idol, The Other Two delightfully skewers internet fame, showbiz, and social media without ever losing sight of the fact that petty jealousies aside, this family genuinely loves each other.

2. Black Earth Rising

Black Earth Rising is an unexpected dramatic turn for Michaela Coel (of Chewing Gum and Black Mirror fame). She stars as Kate Ashby, a genocide survivor adopted by an English mother, in this stirring political thriller about the Rwandan genocide and how international communities that vowed to bring the perpetrators to justice failed Rwandans again and again. As Kate digs into her past via a case her mother has taken on for International Criminal Court, a series of lies are unearthed that change not only Kate’s future, but the future of Rwanda itself.

3. Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt

As Kimmy Schmidt drops its final six episodes, fans will truly mourn an end of an era. Kimmy’s (Ellie Kemper) come so far from the girl in the bunker and has finally made a weird and wonderful place for herself in the world. These last six episodes will focus on giving the characters a hilarious — if not necessarily happy — ending. Will Titus (Titus Burgess) finally get his big break? Will Lillian (Carol Kane) let go of the past? Can Kimmy’s optimism truly defeat any evil? Consider this the sweet, sincere ending most shows only dream of getting.
